Are you winning at Adwords with YouTube?

The more I delve into the world of PPC management and really get a feel for the medium as a way to advertise and bulid brand, the more I see the shifts in where effective ads come from. In the past, we focused on text only ads, then dynamic text ads that insert search terms into the ads.  From the dynamic text ads, the image ads for display, and the merchant ads for products bought directly online.  Finally, YouTube…  With the YouTube platform, advertisers have great low-cost options to connect with their fan base.  These options are letting people see the ad as a thumbnail and click on it, or view it in stream. Customer Service Whoops!

Customer Service Mistakes?
It has happened to the best of us. You have client that is unhappy for one reason or another.  Maybe it  is your fault, maybe not.  Either way  you have one unhappy customer.  Now what do you do?

Customer service mistake, now what?

Customer service is a huge part of any business.  I see it all the time. My new client used to be someone else’s client, but the lack of customer service was the reason they left.  I pride myself on returning calls, fixing issues, and going out of my way to make sure that my client stays my client.  I’d like to think I am perfect.  I’m not.  Let’s face it, we all make mistakes.

When it comes to customer service the customer is always right.  Well, it used to be that way.  Now businesses are more often too busy trying to chase down the next customer instead of keeping the ones they have.  This is the definite wrong way to look at it.

Blog? Where Does the Time Go?

Blog versus Business

Who has the time?

I mean seriously, who has time to blog every week???  I just realized it had been over a month since my last post.  Its not that I haven’t thought about it, guiltily.  I have a list of around 20 blog subjects I could probably sit down and write about in 30 minutes.  Yes I have that much time, and so do you.  So why haven’t I?

Let’s be honest the idea of blogging is not that overwhelming.  I have the ideas for the blog already written down.  I love what I do so it should be easy to write about it, right?  Well yes and no.  I can throw out a decent blog in a little bit of time, but is there any value in that? Does it add any value to my site, or is it just another blog post?

Old website made new?

Old websites might as well be written with a typewriter.

If your old website was originally made in 1998 by someone with a PC that took up 3 rooms, it may be time to look at a redesign.  It may as well have been written on a typewriter and posted outside on your office window.  When it comes to search engine rankings, the age of your site can be a good thing.  You have had the site for 5 years and you own the domain for another 5 years.  Google looks at that as you are in this for the long term and you get bonus points!  So the old website name is a good thing.   Now when was the last time you updated anything on your website?
